Owen has hit the two digits and is now 10. He is very glad to finally be the age he feels he should have been 6 months ago. Since his birthday was on a Friday this year, we did a last minute playdate/ party and some of his friends spent the night. They were up until 1:30 and then I finally finished my church lesson and told them to please get some sleep! I think they chatted a bit longer. (Reminder to pause music before playing video.)
Greg also had his big day the Friday before but of course he feels younger than his age. I didn't catch any candid moments... he really didn't care either. (Our camera was dead, needing batteries at the time and Greg thought that was just fine to skip the record of "just another day".)
Its so funny how when your young you can't wait to get "old" and when your "old" you feel so young. Time is a tricky thing- magical in ironic ways.
Below are some videos of our snow days. The day Greg flew out for another business trip to warm Hawaii, we got some snow. It was Martin Luther King holiday and the boys were home from school. They enjoyed playing football. Payton and I tried to make a snowman but the snow was so dry and powdery that we just made a few snowballs and played around. The Candland boys and Tyler joined us this day. They sure had fun!
Tuesday, 27th, we got more snow. Monday, 26th, was a no school day for students- teachers had their planning/ professional day. So when the snow came over night we knew there would be another day of now school. Maryland always shuts down when we get snow or ice. The snow came down kind of slow, it didn't accumulate much. Then it stopped for part of the afternoon, while we were at the park- Freedom Park- (where Noah, Owen and Gray had their Klondike Derby with scouts on the weekend- 23rd- 24th... only Gray spent the night.) So, after we got back home from the park the snow started up again. It would be nice if it really piled up and we get over a foot! I don't think it will happen though. Forcaste is predicting icey, slushy rain tonight. School maybe delayed in the a.m. but I'll be surprised if it is canceled.
I hope you enjoy these momentos Greg. I know you hate missing out on this!
(Uploading these takes some time to figure out. I have to pat myself on my back for what I was able to accomplish today. I'm sure I'll get better at it so in the future I can edit some longer clips. I can't add anything over 100 mb, bummer! Noah and Payton have a cute one when they were in the house playing "James Bond" with their Nerf guns, and Owen has a great td from this football game in the snow! )
