Now its mid November and I'm mostly caught up with what's been happening, but this post is to tighten loose ends and report what I didn't get in photos.
First, thanks to my in-laws who came and helped Greg while I was gone for a week! I really appreciate it!
I came back from my AZ trip on Friday, Oct. 30th. Greg and the boys picked me up at the airport (minus Gray, who was with friends at a corn maze). When we got home, Owen changed for a sock hop- a social gathering with dancing for pre-teens. So, we had Noah and Payton home with us that night for a movie, games, catching up.
Halloween was next. We've decided that its not the holiday for us because our boys hate dressing up. Gray has detested it since he was 2 years old, and that hasn't changed. He said he wanted to go as the whoopy custion but Im sure if I bought it, he'd never leave the house with it on. Owen did a zombie. Noah did a zombie but washed his face before going out. Payton did ninja.
Since Owen had a 4 p.m. football game, Payton went with friends to the neighborhood party. Noah stayed with us to the game and changed after, which was a disaster. Gray was with friends... but I can't remember. (I'll figure it out later... its almost midnight right now.) Owen joined Gray after his game. So, I went with Noah and no other family member to trick or treat ... or beg for candy. Everyone else was with friends. Greg was home passing out candy to the 18 people that came to our door. (our street is unlit- very dark) 1/2 way through trick or treating with Noah, we picked up his friend Sam and they finished together. Their last house, they hit the jackpot because the family wanted to close for the night (at 8 pm ish) so they gave their remainding candy to the two boys. I think next year we will boycott Halloween and do a trip to Philidelphia! We can always buy the candy we want and eat it!
After Halloween, I've been busy substituting and getting ready for our church primary sacrament presentation, which we just finished Nov. 8th! Greg and I went to the temple on his day off- Nov. 11th, Veterans day, and we had a date night to a ward progressive dinner- Sat. Nov. 14th. We have another date lined up to see the "New Moon" movie this Friday the 20th. Oh, Greg has another business trip for about 2 weeks right after our Thanksgiving weekend, so I've been arranging these dates because with basketball starting and his trip, we won't see much of each other!
Basketball starts this week. Greg and I are coaching Noah and Payton's team. Owen and Gray have seperate teams... so that's 3 teams to juggle. So, life never slow's down! With school, church, sports and holidays... we will be steamrolling it to 2010. ..... yeah, I need to get my sleep now!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention Gray's 13th birthday came and went in October. The second day to be precise! He shares this with his great-grandma Soli. She turned 87! Unfortunately, Gray was sick with the flu and couldn't even enjoy food on his birthday. Greg was out of town too. It was rather a blah birthday. Just before Greg came home, we celebrated a bit with cake and he got his own cell phone - tracfone and a couple of needed items because he is growning like a weed and is the same height as me now- 5 feet 7 inches! He wants a haircut tomorrow and then I'll get another picture of him to add here.

football season ends

Gray's last game was Oct. 24th, the Sat. I was gone in AZ. It was a wet, cold game. He had a super game and even had a touchdown, but the refs said it didn't count because of some penalty that accrued during the play. Gray was usually on defense. He did have a couple tries at tight end, but the last game was the best. Greg said he stripped it from the opponent and ran it into the inzone, carrying it for many yards. I wish I had pictures!!
end of AZ trip

My week in AZ was the last week of October. I had a wonderful, busy time. I spent the beginning mostly with Cristy, it was her special occasion! But, I also celebrated Sara's b-day, visited with all the family and even had time to jog and do a little shopping for myself. I ended my visit at Meloney and Kelsey's home for a bbq and grilled veggies. I bought a couple of pumpkins to carve with my nieces too! (nephews didn't show interest -they said they had one to carve at home)

Joseph, above, gets tired of sitting in a restaruant so I took him for a walk and to test pictures outside, with my new camera! (I got a Nikon Coolpix S630, with 7x Optical zoom, 12 megapixels. So far I am satisfied.)

pic of our "new" basement
This first picture turned out nice! I think I'll keep my new camera.

We really like this! The basement finally smells better!
I played around with my new camera to see if I could get some good shots. Here is Greg and Gray watching t.v. (guess what they are watching???)

This is the back section of the main room, where we work out. (Yes, it faces the t.v.) It's helpful with this set up. I turn it to the music channels and jog for an hour. Im ready to compete in a 10K now, but the races are usually on Sunday. So, I compete against myself. I timed myself Saturday this past week, 11/14, at just over 54 minutes! I was happy! I think I will do the Baltimore 1/2 Marathon next October. I've signed up for the Fredrick Twilight 5K again and will hopefully beat my time for last year. I know there is a race in DC and maybe I'll sign up for that, not sure yet. Its a 1/2 marathon coming in March. I'd like to run that with a friend that has the same pace as me, so maybe I'll put that out on facebook and see who'd be available.
This last picture is of the back section, the yellow room. Greg and our home teacher, Bro. Mike Pachuilo, completed the carpet (which was already there, but they put down new padding in 1/2 of this section and retacked it). They did a super job!

FOOTBALL !!

The tile looking floor is actually vinyl. I put that in all by myself while Greg was on his trip. I did a fabuous job, didn't I? It's not crooked! I did not repaint this room. (That will be next summer's job.) The boys enjoy using this space to romp and play with their toys during the winter months; and if I don't paint then I don't have to worry about them scuffing up the walls.)
We have a full bathroom down here and a bedroom. Behind that door is an unfinished storage room. See, our home is big enough to have guests over! (Let us know if your in town!)
