visitors - yeah, thanks for making the trip

So this Spring 2013 we were pleased to have my sister Meloney and her family come visit for about 10 days.  This was late March.  Then in early April, my sister Sara's husband Neil and their older 3 children made a big trip from Montana to visit us for 3 days.  (They drove, Meloney flew.)
This was also about the same time I received a new calling in Primary presidency (counselor); and in between the family coming to visit, we went to New York for our Gams family Easter tradition.

I just had to add this picture.  (sorry babe but I had to put this picture in here- it makes me laugh;)    Not to laugh at your pain, really, it's a memory.  Greg has been suffering from a sore back for some time and early this year he bought himself this machine.  Other than having a head rush and sore ankles he says it's been helping- that's good.   I think it helped get his back ready for tennis season- which he has been doing twice a week since April.
Below we start our touring with Meloney's family in Harper's Ferry.
I love the history in this town.

What are you talking about Meloney?  jump? no thanks!  Im smiling just so I don't feel too nervous being so close to the edge.  I have a thing with heights.

driving along Maryland's byways on a rainy, cool day (our state bird- Oriole is in pic. above- can you find it?)

not far from us is Philadelphia, PA
I'm so glad Meloney wanted to go here because I've been trying to make the time to go since we moved here about 6 years ago and now... I finally made it!  Thanks Mel & family for getting us out of town!

Amazing History in this place too!  I learned that PA and MD disputed boundaries for some time and claimed portion of each other's land until an official survey around 1767.
 Love the Liberty Bell

We walked the great steps our fore-fathers walked.  I was fascinated with everything here.

At an original Phili Cheesesteak here at Jim's.
Another pretty, sunny but cold day.
Bentley having fun pretending to be a dog.
My stylish niece, Kambria, who takes a lot after her mother.
We first stopped at the D.C. temple before checking out the D.C. sites.
We drove into the city one day.  The second day we took the Metro.  It was cheaper for our crowd to drive into the city.  Metro is expensive.   Above Washington Monument. (not allowed in at the time)
Mural wall in Native American History museum
 The Capitol of the U.S.A.
Cherry Blossom season was just beginning; it was a little late this year.
 Amelia Earhart's plane.
 The White House
 just more pics of D.C.

 Lincoln Memorial

 above, M.L.K. Memorial (I think)
 Potomac River
Both when Meloney/Kelsey and Neil/kids were in town we went to this popular restaurant that was featured on Guys' Diners and Dives - Food Network.  This Tortilla Café was delish!!!

Unfortunately on our way home the second day we got a flat tire.   I'm glad Neil could change it because I would not even want to try on such a busy road.  (highway 32)
