Cunningham Falls Aug. 09

I don't think Gray will like me showing this pic. off but its the only good one I have of the boys in the water! (Yes, I need a new camera! I'm going to AZ in Oct. for my sister, Cristy's wedding, maybe I'll get it then.)

A close up of the falls! Yeah, it wasn't a huge fall. I hear that it rarely is.

Time to go?

Our last minute, one day, vacation trip was to Cunningham Falls before school started.

We did the harder hike to the fall, then the easy stroller trail back to the car. The picks are at the fall. I remember telling the boys, "be careful, the wet rocks are slippery and you can fall easy.", then what do I do? I slip and fall on the wet rocks! My elbow and wrist hurt from that!

After the hike, we made a fire with wood and cooked up some beef stew from a can! (The weather was so damp and rain clouds were approaching we thought we woudn't be able to eat a hot lunch, but just as we were fanning our fire to get it to work, a gust of wind came! So, we ate hot stew instead of cold stew.) Thank the Lord for that little blessing and Dinty Moore!

We brought our big, black kettle that we hardly use and had homemade biscuits on top! Yum!

After lunch the boys swam and played catch with a football we borrowed from another family there, who happened to also be from Eldersburg and doing a day trip. After cleaning up from swimming and our lunch, we packed up and went to our friends, the Sherbert's. While at Bob and Geri's we had a bbq, played games (Apples to Apples and Skip-Bo) and watched some football. There was a terrible storm happening in Sykesville/ Eldersburg when it was time to leave... so we delayed an hour before leaving. The radio was even reporting tornado warnings! Scarey! We made it home okay, thank the Lord again!

I feel like I want to start recording the little blessings that happen to us each day... if I can remember. Of course they won't all make it in my blogs cuz Im not always on the computer. (So, here are a few more: Yesturday I thought I was not going to make it to the temple as planned because of running errands first and traffic, but I made it!!! Second, my sister had a good day, after three terrible, no good, very bad days! Sara is still suffering from her May illness and is getting tired and depressed. Who wouldn't! Gosh, if I was still suffering after 4 months I would hate life! Third, I had a wonderful 36th birthday thanks to dear friends/family and facebook! Thanks guys!)
