Spring Break at Gettysburg

Gettysburg was sunny and windy.

(Above) Gray took this picture, see his knee. He was so cute getting his brothers to pose on this rock. He was excited telling them, "Look, your as tall as that monument."

Our Spring Break consists of two days making our Easter weekend a 4 day holiday. We drove up to Gettysburg on Friday before Greg left and did some shopping at the outlets there. The boys all got a pair of new shoes. I did alot of window shopping for myself. I think I may go back later by myself. If I leave as soon as the boys get off of school, I could make it there and back before they get home! It's under an hours drive.

Well, Gettysburg was more than shopping. We viewed many monuments and stone dedications for the famous Civil War site. There was so much to see we will have to go again some day when its a bit warmer. There were monuments dedicated to both the north and south states, we just had time to view the north so these pictures are of great leaders like General George G. Meade (he is on the picture below on horseback.) It was good to reflect on this part of our American history and all the sacrifices that many of our service men have given for our freedom. God bless America!
