In early July, Greg left for a month long business trip- a big sacrifice to support our family. (Thanks hun- I hope you enjoy these pictures. See you in 10 days!!)
Gray and Owen went to Camp Takahoe and so I took off to Ohiopyle, PA with Noah and Payton. We spent 2 nights there and two days, camping! (Wed. and Thurs. nights leaving Friday about 5 pm.) Its about a 3 hour drive just northwest of us. It is a very neat place and we enjoyed it so much we would love to go again in the near future and have the rest of our family join us. This pic. below is from a very stunning mushroom that yells out, Im poisonous don't eat me! When I saw it, I just had to take a pic. I know, odd.
Silly me, I didn't take my camera out until Friday and I had already packed my stuff back into the car. It rained from like 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. So, I had to go buy a tarp from a shop in town and protect our car before packing all the wet gear. Yes, I need a bike rack but I'd also need a hitch so that is something I think we may do in the future.

Above is the site we stayed at. Its in a cul-de-sac area. It was a bit rocky and bumpy at night and thanks to Helen Stanger we slept better our second night because she gave us extra sleeping bags and blankets. I thought it would be so hot we wouldn't need much but up here in the mountains our evenings were a bit cold- a damp cold.
Noah and Emi above staying dry under Jen Taylors canopy and being creative making pipecleaner men.
Payton played in the little creek behind our campsite with is friends, building dams and creating a path for a soda can (boat) to travel through. This was the children's favorite activity! Thanks to the rain there was a current in that little creek.
Throwing rocks and skipping them were another great past time here at the big river.
This river was a bit cold but the boys still enjoyed themselves.

Down the river was a fierce waterfall. Ohiopyle was unique. Im glad Kim Seaman came up with this idea, even though she couldn't join us this time, and I had enough sense to register with other families from our ward. We had fun with the Stangers, Haroldsens, and Taylor families. I'm sure we will make another trip out there within a year.
Below are pictures from NY, when we visited Grandma and Grandpa Gams. We brought our hampsters up to NY because we were gone for 5 days and I didn't think of asking anyone to take care of them for us. It actually helped the boys stay busy during the ride up and back.
It was so very hot so we tried to keep cool. Above Noah and Payton play in the creek.
We went to Lake Ontario, at Soda's Point one day. We met up with Greg's brother, Andy, and Andy's family. The water was pretty choppy because of winds so the fishing expedition didn't work out but we had fun in the water for several hours. It was refreshing but not freezing.
